Leslie Werstein Hann

Leslie Werstein Hann, president of HannWriting Inc., is a freelance writer with 25 years of experience in journalism, business communications, and educational publishing.

Leslie writes primarily about the world of business—in particular, the volatile insurance industry—but she also handles a range of other topics. She’s recently published stories about an FBI agent who tracks stolen art, the dangers of clinical drug trials, and the challenges of educating children with autism.

Many of her stories focus on the entrepreneurs and executives who run successful businesses and the people who regulate them. In writing for and about the insurance world, Leslie is adept at translating the arcane business of managing risk into a compelling read, whether in bylined articles or industry reports.

Leslie is managing editor of Leader’s Edge, an award-winning magazine published by the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers. She also writes features on people and trends for the magazine, which is frequently honored for its writing, reporting, and design. Leslie is also a contributing writer for the Auto Insurance Report and Property Insurance Report, highly regarded industry newsletters published by Risk Information Inc.

Before starting HannWriting in 2000, Leslie was managing editor of Best’s Review magazine. She began her journalism career as a reporter for daily newspapers in New Jersey, The Courier-News in Bridgewater and the Asbury Park Press in Neptune. Her work has also appeared in Art & Antiques, Risk Management magazine, John Liner Review, The Journal of Biolaw and Business, Pharmaceutical Executive, Trade Credit magazine, Computer Technology Review, Deliver magazine, District Administration, University Business and other business journals.

Leslie graduated with honors from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She lives in the woods of Lebanon Township, New Jersey, with her husband and business partner, Chris Hann, and their two sons.
